Dead Dayton

Dry Dayton, all there is to do is drink! We're all in our own little worlds! Dayton is dry and dead, such a dread! There are some cool folks left around here, but still, no one has the time to make a difference for the indigent folks of Dayton, maybe St. Vincent's Hotel, hell! It's sad, isn't it? No jobs in Dayton, Dayton suffers like so many other dead cities in America! Don't you see it, it's so cheap of a life when the President promotes Islamic Mosques - what the hell is he doing? He had the upper hand yesterday!

He's standing up for private property rights and the freedom to build houses of worship regardless of what others think of your religion. These are core, bedrock American values.

If the local government in Dayton were a bit more respectful of these core values, especially supporting and respecting private property rights, maybe the economy here would do a little better. I agree, it's a travesty so many people are out of work here in Dayton (and the country) and so many powerful people are seem indifferent and unconcerned.

My boss is a Muslim, although he's not particularly religious or political. His hard work has created a small company that employs six people, and he's looking to hire one or two more despite the economic troubles around here. People like you are promoting the idea that he's not welcome here. It's not helpful and it's anti-American. Stop it.

All I'm saying is that terrorists are tracked to Muslims; and what you say here is true also - thanks for the input!
But I'm not a bigot, at least I hope I'm not!

Not true. Timothy McVeigh, responsible for the #2 terrorist attack on American soil in a generation, was a Christian. One of the most famous and successful terrorist organizations in the world is, indeed, linked to a particularly radical version of Islam (one that most American Muslims, by the way, really hate. Indeed, many American Muslims left their homeland to get away from that kind of stuff).

But unless you think over 1 billion people who happen to share a religion with some asshole whackjobs are collectively guilty for 9/11, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a Muslim group building a house of worship and community center wherever they like, as long as they comply with local law. I'm sure if you're not a bigot and you think about it, you'll realize this is the only fair position.

Best wishes,

Steve G.

A gala event has occurred in Gaza.

Hamas sponsored a mass wedding for four hundred and fifty couples.
Most of the grooms were in their mid to late twenties; most of brides were under ten.

Muslim dignitaries including Mahmud Zahar, a leader of Hamas, were on hand to congratulate the couples who took part in the carefully staged celebration.
